A New Spirituality

In the early days of the emerging gay and lesbian movement, late in the nineteenth and early in the twentieth centuries, many of the pioneers claimed a distinctively gay spirituality – but found themselves unable to express this within the mainstream Christian faiths. Instead, they developed a range of spiritualities which were distinctively queer – but not necessarily Christian.
